On the sixty second anniversary of UN resolution 181, the Costa Rican president visits Peres

Oscar Arias Sanchez, the Costa Rican President, had called on President Shimon Peres, on Sunday, it was considered as being entirely appropriate. The date heralded November the twenty ninth, on the partition of Palestine, as the sixty second anniversary of the fateful UN Resolution 181.

One of the 33 countries that voted "yes" in 1947 was Costa Rica. Then, not even an entire year later, but in 1948, among the first countries to recognize the nascent State of Israel, was this one.
