The Departamento de Licencias en San José (San José driver license office) will be open extended hours to accommodate the expected rush ahead of the Semana Santa (Easter Week) holiday.

Where to go to get away from it all

If you long to get it away from it all, and go way beyond the ordinary travel destinations, then the place for you is Punta Marenco Lodge. Five hours south of San José, along unpaved roads beyond Rincón, and via a bone-crushing, scenic route where you'll cross nine rivers, you will eventually arrive at the little village of Agujitas, in Drake Bay.
