Unknown to many, peaceful Costa Rica has its own set of intelligence units just like the CIA of the United States.While these men are not allowed to arrest anybody, they are entitled to spy on suspected criminals and other entities that the State believes as dangerous to national security. Established in 1994, activist groups have long protested against the existence of this police group because they say that this violates our human right to privacy.
