    The rising crime rates and devaluation of U.S. Dollar are two of the issues pointed out John Holtz in his article on Inside Costa Rica, which the government is not addressing properly.

    The USD purchasing power has floated below 500 in most bank which decreased the currency buying power. This condition has been a selective inflation targeting those on fixed dollar income.
