ICE ignores indigenous people in dam planning

Despite treaties that require governments to include indigenous people in the decision-making of largescale projects that would affect their well-beieng, Costa Rica's state power company excluded the indigenous people of Costa Rica about the construction of the Diquis Dam, Central America's largest hydroelectric project.

Indigenous people of Térraba, located south of Buenos Aires, complained that they were never consulted by ICE, despite the requirement set by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Convention 169, which concerns indigenous and tribal people.
