Costa Rican teacher wins award

By Website Introductions at 05/28/08 15:04
Good deeds should be really awarded, just like this teacher from Costa Rica.

Etz, 47, has served for the Montessori Children's Academy in St. Clair, and was awarded a $5000 check as part of the Community Awareness Reflected in Education (CARE) award.

She was voted by a council of area high school students who thought that Etz did well in encouraging her students to do something to the community. Among her students' projects are raising money to save seven acres of the Osa rainforest.

More details here in The Times Herald.
