More police for Costa Rica port city

Following the killing of a would-be mugger by a US tourist in the port city of Limon, authorities said that more police would be placed on duty to try and prevent criminal attacks on tourists.

Business takeover by Costa Rica firm

The Costa Rica beer company, Florida Ice and Farm Co, has made two new important acquisitions. It took over brewing giant SABMiller's Costa Rica Pepsi franchise for $116 million, and as part of the deal also received a 43 percent stake in a Costa Rican hotel development and real estate company.

Friendly locals, cheap cost of living and very pleasant weather are three of the most commonly advanced reasons why expats have chosen to settle in this country. One thing that is not so easy to get used to is the culture shock.
