Bank detects phishing scam

The Bank of Costa Rica has posted a warning on it's website advising that about 150 account holders fell for an Internet phishing scam and gave out their personal information after receiving a fraudulent e-mail that originated from China.

The bite appears to be holding on the Pacific-coast fishing spots. Tarpon are being taken, and reports indicate that the action has been picking up in many areas.

Where to go to get away from it all

If you long to get it away from it all, and go way beyond the ordinary travel destinations, then the place for you is Punta Marenco Lodge. Five hours south of San José, along unpaved roads beyond Rincón, and via a bone-crushing, scenic route where you'll cross nine rivers, you will eventually arrive at the little village of Agujitas, in Drake Bay.
