    Slower Growth but Lower Inflation in 2009

    Costa Rica is just one of the Central American countries taking the blow caused by Economic problem of United States. Central Bank of Costa Rica expects a decline in the country's economic growth due to the effects of the slowdown in the United States. They see a 2.2 percent economic growth this year, 0.7 point lower that last year's. On the light part inflation is also expected at 9 percent much lower than last year's 14 percent.

    Quake death toll seen to be around 40

    A week after Costa Rica's deadly earthquake and the numbers of dead people are already seen to be around 40--that is if the 20-something missing people are not yet seen.

    Search officers are already looking at evacuation sites where there are hundreds of Costa Ricans in an effort to reduce the number of people missing.

    Costa Rica, known to tourists for its lush scenery and good-looking beaches, is prone to natural calamities like the rest of Central America.

    Calle 13 Ends Palmares Parties with a Bang

    Calle 13 - a Puerto Rican urban music group will end the Palmares Civic Parties on Jan. 25 at noon with a massive concert with a bang, according to the final line-up of international artist that will be a part of the festival.

    The Palmares Festival is one of the most anticipated collective party on the annual Costa Rican event list with 12 days to choose from and would be suitable for all ages.
