As the most cosmopolitan city in all of Central America it is jam packed with office towers, shopping malls, fast-food restaurants, men chatting on cell phones and looks like any other major city in the world. It is the centre of Costa Rican life where world class restaurants offer gourmet fare and night life jumps up every night of the week.

Violence and crime in Costa Rica is extremely rare. Costa Ricans (Ticos) are law abiding citizens with complete respect and faith in their laws. However, the onset of an increase in violence has Ticos worried.

To meet a 2010 Banana export goal, Costa Rica will need to increase exports by 15% annually. This will require foreign investments of 1,500 million dollars per year.

Fishermen Rescued

Five fishermen, had set off in a small boat from the town of Playas del Coco, Costa Rica last November 16 and were blown into the ocean by fierce winds. They ate the blood and meat of turtles to stay alive.
