With a new fiber optic cable put in place, government telecommunications company ICE will expand its international network and increase productivity. The new fiber optic cable that landed in Costa Rica's Pacific coast will allow the nation to have more reliable communication with the east coasts of the United States and Latin America, and Asia.
This is still part of the country's opening of the telecommunications market, which will eventually invite competition.
