1.8 Percent Economic Shrink in Costa Rica

Due to the recession in United States of America, its main trading partner Costa Rica announced that its economy will contract 1.8 percent in 2009. Central Bank President Francisco de Paula Gutierrez told the media that despite the forecast of 2.2 percent growth this year, the economy of Costa Rica was greatly affected by the economic downturn of America.
