Minister of Finance Guillermo Zúñiga disclosed that the financial deficit in Costa Rica had been substantially reduced over the past fiscal year dropping by a whopping 70%.

Foreign residents to be taxed

An immigration bill which will impose an annual immigration tax of 25 U.S. dollars on every foreign resident in Costa Rica, is to be submitted to the Legislative Assembly, saidPublic Security Minister Fernando Berrocal.

Costa Rica is a bargain

With one of the highest standards of living in Latin America, Costa Rica is understandably one of the more expensive countries on that continent, but purchasing power is greater in Costa Rica than in the United States or Canada. As a result the country is really a bargain compared to most places.
