    A Columbian gang has been recruiting Costa Rican fisherman and their fishing boats to haul drugs off the shores of Costs Rica. They are getting paid up to $3,000 U.S. for each run.

    Import Labor to Export Coffee

    Labourers who pick coffee are becoming harder and harder to find in the Costa Rica because the Ticos are becoming more reluctant to take these back-breaking, low paying, menial jobs. Labourers are making roughly $12.00 per day's work.

    Some coffee snobs that used to enjoy free coffee at school in Costa Rica have switched to tea like many other americans. Will the tea health craze send the Costa Rica coffee market south?
