    Chiquita Brands International launches its new Biodigester system in an effort to promote sustainable operations and carbon neutrality.

    This biodigester system can convert organic and fruit materials into electrical and heat energy for the company facility. As byproducts, nutrient rich fertilizer is made available to the local farmers. This process also allows filtering of water. This not only benefits the Chiquita company, but also the community and the environment. Costa Rican President Chinchilla congratulates Chiquita for this achievement.
